We are proud to announce that our first monograph has been published- Exchange and Ritual at the Riverside: Late Bronze Age Life in the Lower Witham Valley at Washingborough Lincolnshire.

This important Late Bronze Age waterlogged site was first investigated by John and Bryony Coles back in 1973 but thirty one years would pass before flood alleviation works by the Environment Agency led to the excavations by Pre-Construct Archaeology (Lincoln). This monograph, written by Dr Carol Allen and others, explores late Bronze Age life in a liminal zone, where periodic ceremonial gatherings took place on the north bank of the river, involving metalworking, brewing, manufacturing, feasting and exchange. These activities were important for the forging of, often far-reaching, social relationships and they appear only to have demised or shifted when water levels rose in the latest phases of the Bronze Age.

The monograph is realistically priced at £20.00 + p&p and can be ordered now by email or by telephoning our office - 01522 703800
