Pre-Construct Archaeological Services Ltd (formerly PCA (Lincoln)) has remained solid and dependable, supporting construction through the good times as well as the lean and we remain committed to supporting planning and development issues: to finding solutions, not creating problems.

Pre-Construct Archaeological Services Ltd.

Being one of the first of the 'new breed' archaeological companies to emerge, following the marriage of archaeology and planning in 1991, PCA was launched in 1993 to provide a service to the development industry, where the business was founded on a name that put archaeology at the heart of planning and construction.

In the early days, we offered a standard range of archaeological services centered largely on pre-construction surveys (hence the name). We still provide these services, but with time have expanded and diversified, and in the process have increased our client base substantially.

Looking back over seventeen years of planning-driven archaeology, where archaeological companies have come and gone, PCA has remained solid and dependable, supporting construction through the good times as well as the lean, and we remain committed to supporting planning and development issues: to finding solutions, not creating problems.

We offer a comprehensive package; designed to advise and support pre-planning investigations, to assist small developments, to pave the way for large-scale developments, and to support major infrastructure schemes. We have a relatively unique in-house geophysical survey capability (our sister company- Pre-Construct Geophysics), and also a dedicated historic building surveyor and in-house human osteologist.
